Muscat: The major ports of Oman have begun receiving cruise ships for the season, which runs from November to May.

The Port Sultan Qaboos in Muscat Governorate and Khasab Port in Musandam Governorate recently welcomed the first cruise ship arrivals of this year's season.

Sultan Qaboos Port is expected to receive 41 cruise ships, while Khasab Port is expected to receive 45.

Recently,  PSQ welcomed the global cruise ship Mein Schiff 4, operated by the German company TUI, carrying 2,386 tourists from various countries. This arrival marks the launch of the 2025-2026 cruise season, an initiative spearheaded by Asyad Ports and Freezones in collaboration with the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism (MHT).

The arrival of Mein Schiff 4 signals the beginning of a busy tourist season, with Port Sultan Qaboos anticipating an increase in cruise ship visits over the coming months.

The Sultanate of Oman recently welcomed the expansion of the Cruise Arabia Alliance with the inclusion of Saudi Cruise and Qatar Tourism.

The expanded alliance aims to unlock the Gulf’s full maritime potential by promoting it as a sustainable international cruise hub connecting multiple destinations.

Azzan bin Qasim al Busaidi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism for Tourism, said that expanding cooperation within the Cruise Arabia Alliance will significantly enhance Oman’s cruise tourism sector. “These partnerships will introduce diverse tourism programmes and experiences, offering visitors a wider variety of options while boosting regional collaboration”, he noted.
