

MUSCAT: The Nadan Warriors clinched the top honours in the fiercely contested Tug-of-War competition at the Oman Hockey Carnival 2025, jointly organised by Hockey Oman and United Thalassery Sports Club (UTSC).
The event, held at the Hockey Oman International Stadium, Al Amerat, drew spirited participation and showcased remarkable teamwork, strength and sportsmanship from all competing teams.
Jabson Varghese served as the Team Owner of the Nadan Warriors.
The players included Basil Kuriakose, Sayandh MS, Rufus Joshua, Byju George, Jibson Varghese, Dais Jacob, Sibi V Samuel, Abin Joy and Nishil Mathew. Eldho Baby was the Head Coach with Byju Babu John being the Team Manager and was assisted by Anish Mathew, John Mathai, Rajesh V S and Shaji Thomas.
Held as part of the annual carnival celebrations, the tug-of-war event followed strict participation and ground rules to ensure fairness and safety. Each team was required to maintain a maximum combined weight of 650 kg, with squads comprising seven players, two substitutes, a coach and a manager. Winners at each stage were decided using a Best-of-Three format.
The competition witnessed thrilling battles of strength and coordination, culminating in the Nadan Warriors securing the championship title and earning well-deserved accolades.
