MUSCAT: A unified digital platform from the Ministry of Labour, the 'Maak' application has streamlined and simplified procedures and services for individuals and employers, ensuring seamless access. The application aims to support a promising segment of job-seekers by providing employment opportunities, enhancing the efficiency of services offered to individuals and employers, and facilitating the exchange of information and job applications between employers and job-seekers.

The Ministry of Labour clarified that the percentage of its total digital services reached 76 per cent by 2024. These services are available on the website, serving all segments of society, individuals, residents, employers, job-seekers, the workforce, and the government sector, in addition to the services offered through the ministry's 'Maak' mobile application.

The 'Maak' smartphone application serves as the second channel for the Ministry of Labour's electronic services. This reflects the ministry's commitment to providing services that align with the evolving labour market and its challenges. The ministry has worked to establish appropriate legislation, provide the necessary tools, and invest human and financial resources to ensure the delivery of services that meet the expectations of beneficiaries.

The application's services are divided into those for individuals and those for employers. Services for individuals include categories for job-seekers, the national workforce, individual employers, and complaints and reports.

According to the Ministry of Labour, 452,627 applications were submitted for government jobs, 1,670,383 for private sector jobs, 380,983 users activated their profiles, 8,568 employment contracts were accepted and 10,190 labour complaints were registered.

This national approach has brought about a qualitative shift in the employment sector and in meeting the demands of the labour market. The application provides access to the services of the ministry.

Where talent meets opportunity, and fairness and transparency are ensured in job postings and service delivery to individuals and employers, mobile applications are crucial for recruitment. They enhance the efficiency of the hiring process, expand the reach of candidates, facilitate direct communication between employers and candidates, and offer greater flexibility for all parties. They also reduce the costs and time required for recruitment.
