Muscat: China has extended its visa-free entry for residents of Saudi Arabia, Oman, Bahrain, and Kuwait until December 31, 2026. The earlier deadline was June 8, 2022.
This extension allows citizens of these countries to visit China for up to 30 days per trip, whether for business, tourism, family visits, or cultural exchanges.
Meanwhile, Oman Airports earlier announced the launch of a direct air route linking the Sultanate of Oman and the People's Republic of China, from November 30.
The route is being launched in cooperation with the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism and the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in Muscat, and in coordination with China Eastern Airlines.
The new route, via Muscat International Airport and Beijing Capital International Airport, will operate two weekly flights on Sundays and Wednesdays using Airbus A330-300 aircraft with a capacity of 299 seats.
Engineer Ahmed bin Saeed al Amri, CEO of Oman Airports, emphasized that the launch of the direct route between Muscat and Beijing represents a strategic addition to the network of international destinations.
For his part, Li Bin, head of the China Eastern team, said that this cooperation reflects the strength of bilateral relations between the Sultanate of Oman and the People's Republic of China, and will provide further facilities for travelers and businessmen, in addition to opening up broader horizons for economic and trade exchange.
