National Day holidays: Enjoy the pleasant November

The National Day holidays have been announced for November 26 and 27, which means a four-day break, including the weekend.

November is ideal for outdoor activities due to its daytime temperatures, and the mountains can be chilly, especially in the evenings.

Key options include exploring Muscat for inbound foreign tourists, apart from visiting the areas around Hajar Mountains, Wahiba Sands, or the governorates of South al Sharqiyah, Al Wusta, and Dhofar.

Jabal Akhdar is referred to as the Green Mountain, while Jabal Shams is referred to as the mountain, and both are worth a visit for lower temperatures. Visitors can explore the falaj system and experience some of the resorts. Both these places offer ample options for trekking, hiking, and camping.

Other sights to visit are the Al Hoota caves, the caves that are spread across many kilometres, dating back almost 2 million years. One can also visit the village of Misfat al Abriyeen.

Citizens and expatriates can also explore the neighbouring GCC countries, as most of them offer simplified visa procedures, including the visa on arrival or e-visa facilities.
