MUSCAT: Ahli Sidab and Al Amerat clubs advanced to the final match of the 2025 His Majesty the Sultan’s Cup for Hockey, held at the Oman Hockey Stadium in Al Amerat, after impressive victories in the semifinals.

Ahli Sidab reached the final after defeating Sohar 5–1, while Al Amerat booked their spot with a commanding 8–0 win over Salalah.

The final will be played today (Monday), at 7 pm. At the behest of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, HH Sayyid Dr Fahd bin Al Julanda al Said, Vice-Chancellor of SQU, will preside over the final of the 55th edition of His Majesty the Sultan's Hockey Cup 2025.

AHLI SIDAB SECURE FINAL BERTH WITH A 5-1 WIN IVER SOHAR

The match between Ahli Sidab and Sohar started evenly, with both teams sharing possession and creating chances without a real threat. Ahli Sidab relied on the movements of Pardeep Singh and Rashid al Fazari, while Sohar threatened on the counter through Said bin Salim al Nofali and Mohammed bin Darwish al Maamari. The first quarter ended goalless.

In the second quarter, both sides maintained balanced play despite Ahli Sidab’s attempts through Mohammed Zamir and Asaad al Qasmi. Still, Sohar’s goalkeeper, Mohammed bin Khamis al Nofali, made several crucial saves to keep it level at halftime.

The third quarter saw Ahli Sidab launch an attacking surge. Pardeep Singh opened the scoring in the 36th minute with a field goal (FG), followed by ASJIT SINGH doubling the lead in the 40th minute. Rashid al Fazari then made it 3–0 a minute later, ending the quarter with a comfortable advantage.

Sohar managed to pull one back through PRATAP LAKRA from a penalty stroke (PS) in the 51st minute. Still, Sand bin Salim al Fazari sealed the victory with a penalty corner (PC) goal in the 53rd minute, ending the match 5–1 and sending Ahli Sidab into the final.

AL AMERAT CRUSH SALALAH 8–0 TO REACH THE FINAL

Al Amerat entered their semifinal with aggressive intent, opening the scoring in the 3rd minute through JONGHYUN JANG (FG). Osama Ramadan added the second a minute later, and Uttam Singh made it 3–0 in the 6th minute.

JONGHYUN JANG then struck twice more in the 11th and 13th minutes, the first a field goal and the second from a penalty corner (PC), to end the first quarter with Al Amerat leading 5–0.

In the second quarter, Salalah tried to get back into the match through Adnan bin Khalil al Hasani and Raza Ali Nasser, but Al Amerat’s defence and goalkeeper Fahd al Nofali remained solid.

The third quarter saw Al Amerat extend their lead to 6–0 as Osama Ramadan scored again in the 32nd minute following a pass from Akram Ashour Ramadan al Shami.

In the fourth quarter, Aliyas al Nofali scored a beautiful goal in the 52nd minute, before JONGHYUN JANG completed his personal quadruple and sealed the eighth goal for Al Amerat in the 54th minute from a penalty corner (PC).
