The Oman national under-17 football team resumed training on Saturday as part of a short local camp currently being held in Muscat Governorate. The camp runs until Monday, serving as part of the team’s final preparations for participation in the AFC Asian Cup Qualifiers, scheduled to kick off at the end of November.


This local camp comes just before the team’s departure to Thailand on Monday evening for an external training camp, during which Oman will play two friendly matches — the first against Thailand on November 13, and the second against Kuwait on November 16. After completing the Thailand camp, the team will travel to Myanmar on November 20 to begin final preparations for the qualifiers, where they will play their opening match against Syria on November 24, followed by fixtures against Nepal, Myanmar and Afghanistan later in the month.


The team’s technical staff, led by head coach Ahmed bin Salem Bait Said, announced a 24-player squad for the current camp:
