His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik arrived in Madrid on Monday evening, on a three-day state visit to the Kingdom of Spain.
When the Royal airplane entered the Spanish airspace, it was escorted by military jets of the Spanish Air Force, in a manifestation of warm welcome for His Majesty the Sultan.
Upon the arrival at Adolfo Suárez Madrid–Barajas Airport, His Majesty the Sultan was received at the foot of the ramp by Diego Martínez, Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs (Head of the Mission of Honour), several Spanish officials, the Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to Spain, and members of the Omani Embassy in Madrid.
After that, His Majesty the Sultan proceeded to the main vehicle, passing between two rows of guard of honour.
Then, the motorcade of His Majesty the Sultan left the airport heading to his venue of residence in the Royal Palace of El Pardo.
King Felipe VI and his Spouse Queen Letizia will host an official reception protocol for His Majesty the Sultan at the Royal Palace in Madrid on Tuesday.
The visit aims at enhancing the advanced relations and expanding areas of cooperation and partnership in various economic, investment and trade sectors, in a manner that serve the joint interests. - ONA
