The second round of the Show Jumping season 2025-26 kicked off with great excitement, organised by the Oman Equestrian and Racing Federation, at the Al Rahba Racecourse in Barka on Sunday. The event featured 45 horses representing various government cavalry units and private stables, competing across four height categories in a vibrant sporting atmosphere attended by officials and equestrian enthusiasts.


The first day of competition witnessed strong performances across all categories.


In B Category with height of 130 cm, four horses competed, horse Wadoud owned by Royal Cavalry claimed first place, ridden by Madin bin Said al Yousifi, then Haider Anwar al Rasheed from Al Arabia Stables secured second on Kawaidim, while Mohammed bin Salem al Hadhrami, also from the Royal Cavalry came third riding the mare Thekrayat.


In the C Category (120 cm), Sultan bin Hamoud al Tooqi from the Olympic Equestrian Training Centre dominated with Extreme, followed by Jamal bin Humaid al Sharyani from the Royal Guard of Oman on Egna.


The D Category with height of 110 cm saw Khalid bin Said al Wahaibi from Al Rayyan Stables taking first on Hensley, while Ahmed al Shahat from Horsira Centre finished second on Deluxe.


Meanwhile, the E Category with height of 100 cm featured 38 horses, with Hilal bin Hamad al Shoukri from Al Said Stables winning on Fami, followed by Mohammed bin Rashid al Wahaibi from the Royal Cavalry on Azhar and Al Khattab al Jabri from the Royal Oman Police in third with Lord Gabi.


On the second day, the competition continued with equally thrilling results.


AL TOOQI IMPRESSES


In the B Category, Sultan al Tooqi clinched another victory on Fantasia from the Olympic Centre, while Madin al Yousifi and Haider al Rasheed were placed second and third respectively.


Al Tooqi also topped C Category again on Extreme, with Barbara from Al Said Stables and Jamal al Sharyani following behind.


In the D Category, Bassam bin Nasser al Ghabshi from the ROP won first place on Fifty Fifty, followed by Khalfan al Hattali then Khalid al Wahaibi.


Finally, the E Category concluded with Rashid al Mashaykhi from the ROP taking first on Raad, Mazen al Yousifi second and Nasser al Harasi third.
