His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik will go on a state visit to the Kingdom of Spain on Monday.
A statement, issued by the Diwan of Royal Court to this effect, reads as follows: “In response to an invitation received by His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik from King Felipe VI of the Kingdom of Spain, His Majesty the Sultan will go on a state visit to Spain during November 3-5. The visit comes in a manifestation of ties of friendship between the Sultanate of Oman and the Kingdom of Spain. It aims to meet the aspirations of the two countries.
"During the visit, the two monarchs will explore areas of cooperation between the two countries in various spheres, and means of promoting them to serve the joint interests. The visit will also address a set of regional and international developments."
His Majesty's forthcoming state visit to the Kingdom of Spain represents a significant international engagement, building upon over five decades of bilateral ties founded on mutual respect and understanding.
For the past 50 years, Omani-Spanish relations have been defined by mutual respect and constructive cooperation, culminating in a robust partnership across diverse fields, with politics and economics being particularly prominent. This is demonstrated through a consistent exchange of views, high-level meetings and bilateral agreements, including the visit of King Felipe VI of Spain to meet with His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik to offer condolences on the passing of the late His Majesty Sultan Qaboos.
The Sultanate of Oman and the Kingdom of Spain enjoy collaborative ventures in numerous sectors, especially economic and investment fields.
