MUSCAT/GUANGZHOU — An Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI) delegation, joined by a group of Omani businessmen, has concluded a seven-day visit to the People’s Republic of China, taking part in the first and second phases of the Canton Fair and touring factories in the Shufan Industrial Zone across plastics, aluminium, sanitary ware and furniture sectors.

OCCI Vice-Chairman Eng. Hamoud bin Salem Al Saadi said the mission reflects the Chamber’s drive to open direct channels with major markets such as China, Oman’s most important trading partner, and to explore trade and import opportunities that support the national economy and align with development priorities.

Eng. Saeed bin Ali Al Abri, Chairman of OCCI’s North Al Batinah branch, noted that field visits in the Shufan area offered first-hand insight into manufacturing quality, technical know-how and modern industrial innovations, creating room for strategic partnerships and expanded trade and investment between both sides.

The delegation stressed the importance of leveraging global experience, exchanging expertise and translating the visit’s outcomes into improvements in Oman’s business ecosystem, particularly in industrial and services sectors.

The visit ran from 17 to 24 October and included meetings with Chinese business leaders to discuss investment conditions in industry and commerce. Chinese counterparts were invited to the Sohar Investment Forum in North Al Batinah Governorate, scheduled for February 2026.
