

MUSCAT: Mohammed al Falahi, assistant coach of the Oman national tennis teams, is participating in the World Tennis Coaches Conference, hosted in Vilnius, the capital of Lithuania, from October 28 to November 2. The event brings together an elite group of leading coaches, experts and international federations from around the world.
The conference is considered one of the most significant global training events in the sport of tennis, covering the latest scientific approaches in physical and mental training, and the development of players’ skills across all age groups and professional levels.
Al Falahi is the first Omani coach to take part in such a prestigious international programme, a milestone that adds to his professional record and reflects the Oman Tennis Association’s (OTA) commitment to developing national talent and providing opportunities to engage with international expertise and best practices. Through this participation, the association aims to transfer global knowledge and experience into Oman’s local coaching ecosystem, enhancing the preparation and performance levels of national players and teams in the future.
This nomination is part of the OTA strategic plan to develop national technical staff by encouraging participation in international conferences and courses that raise coaching competencies and introduce the latest global advancements in physical, technical, and psychological preparation methods, keeping pace with the sport’s global evolution.
Al Falahi is regarded as one of Oman’s promising young coaching talents, having served as an assistant to several foreign coaches within the national teams and overseen the training of numerous players across different age groups. His contributions have directly improved the performance of players who went on to compete in regional and Gulf tournaments, establishing his reputation as one of the rising names in Omani tennis coaching.
In a special statement, Mohammed al Falahi said: "My participation in the World Tennis Coaches Conference is a unique and valuable opportunity to learn about the latest internationally recognised training methodologies and to exchange experiences with top coaches from different continents. I am truly proud to be the first Omani coach to represent my country in this global event, and I feel a great responsibility to transfer the knowledge and insights I gain to my colleagues in the national teams and local clubs. I sincerely thank the Oman Tennis Association for its trust and continuous support for national coaches, and for its commitment to investing in local talent to elevate the level of tennis in the Sultanate of Oman.”
Al Falahi added that the conference will cover a wide range of topics, including strategic training planning, talent management, modern performance technologies, nutrition and players’ mental preparation. He emphasised that these areas are essential for the future development of Oman’s tennis ecosystem and expressed his determination to benefit fully from all sessions, lectures and workshops presented by experts from the International Tennis Federation throughout the conference.
