The Oman Basketball Association (OBA) celebrated the graduation of 15 male and female coaches representing various clubs and sports institutions, after successfully completing the Level 2 Sports Performance Specialist Course, organised by the OBA in cooperation with the International Basketball Federation (FIBA).

The three-day course concluded yesterday and included both theoretical and practical sessions held at Seeb Sports Club Hall and Wawan Hall in Al Hail, conducted by international instructor Amir Eid.

The closing ceremony was held under the auspices of Abu Bakr bin Ahmed al Jahwari, Vice-President of the Oman Basketball Association and Chairman of the Technical Development Committee, who praised the participants’ active engagement throughout the course, saying:

It builds upon the success of the Level 1 course previously conducted and represents a significant step forward in equipping our national coaches with the scientific and technical knowledge needed to enhance players’ physical performance and reduce common injuries.

Al Jahwari added that organising the course in collaboration with national institutions such as Seeb Sports Club and Wawan Hall demonstrates a successful model of integration between the federation and both the sports and private sectors. He emphasised that the main goal of the programme is to build a strong base of qualified national coaches capable of improving the physical and technical standards of basketball in Oman.

The course programme featured a combination of theoretical lectures and hands-on applications, covering advanced concepts in physical training, load management, injury prevention, and designing specialised training programs for basketball teams.

At the conclusion of the course, participants took a final evaluation test, after which Abu Bakr al Jahwari presented certificates of participation to the graduates and offered a commemorative gift to international instructor Amir Eid in recognition of his valuable contribution to the programme’s success.
