MUSCAT: The 9th Conference of Sultan Qaboos University’s College of Law kicked off on Wednesday under the theme: "Role of the Legislative System in Social Protection".
The conference's opening ceremony was held under the auspices of Dr Mahad bin Said Baowain, Minister of Labour, in the presence of HH Sayyid Dr Fahd bin Al Julanda al Said, Vice-Chancellor of SQU.
The sessions of the conference will deal with social protection from various perspectives (civil, commercial, constitutional, legal and procedural). A special session will be dedicated to the students of the College of Law at Sultan Qaboos University. During this session, the students will review joint scholarly papers on issues of relevance.
The conference takes place amid significant legislative developments in the Sultanate of Oman in the fields of social protection and labour. It aims to analyse related national legislation and review the best international practices. - ONA
