MUSCAT: The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth, represented by the Literary Forum, on Tuesday organised a seminar titled 'The Omani Woman in Foreign Sources.'

The event aimed to highlight the presence and contributions of the Omani woman through the ages as documented in foreign sources, alongside showcasing her role in building civilisation and framing her achievements in various fields.

On the sidelines of the seminar, an art exhibition was held, documenting the image of the Omani woman through the records of travellers and foreign sources, organised by the Cultural Club.

The exhibition features 20 artworks, ranging from photographs to drawings derived from the impressions of travellers, photographers and visitors who documented life in Oman across its various stages. In these works, the Omani woman is presented as an artistic icon representing daily social life and the details of Omani society. - ONA
