

MUSCAT: A 3-day Gameathon Hackathon kicked off today with the participation of 105 talents, divided into 21 teams representing various academic and research establishments in the Sultanate of Oman.
The participants will develop innovative solutions that address national challenges in the fields of education, research, sustainability and entrepreneurship.
The Gemathon Hackathon is an interactive national platform that brings together students, innovators, researchers and entrepreneurs from different governorates of the Sultanate of Oman. It furnishes a motivating, competitive environment aimed at contributing to the acceleration of digital transition programmes and the promotion of sustainable development in the Sultanate of Oman.
Participants focus on developing technology projects featuring smart education and learning technologies, research, digital analysis, educational sustainability and inclusiveness, as well as entrepreneurship and institutional innovation.
These challenges were identified in terms of actual needs identified by relevant government departments, giving participants the opportunity to present applicable solutions. — ONA
