Muscat: The Oman national under-20 football team begins a new phase of technical and physical preparation, as national coach Hamad al Azzani has announced the list of players who will take part in a domestic training camp in Muscat Governorate from October 19 to 29.


This camp is part of an intensive preparation programme aimed at readying the team for upcoming competitions, most notably the West Asian U19 Championship and the AFC U19 Asian Cup 2026 qualifiers, whose dates and venue have yet to be officially confirmed.


This training camp comes within the framework of a long-term plan set by the technical staff to prepare the team for the 2026 Asian Cup qualifiers. Al Azzani seeks to enhance the players’ physical and technical readiness while testing a group of new talents who have recently shown strong performances, in hopes of building the best possible lineup capable of representing the Sultanate honourably in continental tournaments.


During the camp, the team will play two friendly matches against Iraq on October 25 and 28, to assess player readiness and evaluate the team’s technical and tactical level ahead of official competitions.

The 26-player squad for this camp includes Haitham bin Arfa Bait Khurayf (Dhofar), Husam bin Mohammed al Naabi, Ahmed bin Salim al Omrani, Ahmed bin Abdullah al Rawahi, Al Hasan bin Ali al Qasimi, Fahad bin Jumaa al Mashaikhi, Ibrahim bin Badr al Shamsi, Ziyad bin Khalfan al Faraji (Al Amerat), Khalid bin Khamis al Qutaiti (Al Khabourah), Fahad bin Abdullah Bait Rabee, Mohammed bin Ghanim Amer Jaid, Hazzah bin Khalifa Bayt Salim (Al Nasr), Moamen bin Musbah al Sooli (Al Wahda, UAE), Ziyad bin Badr bin Suwailim (Taqah), Hassan bin Maqdar al Hinai (Bahla), Yousuf bin Abdullah al Farsi (Sohar), Wibran bin Abdullah al Saadi, Al Waleed bin Khalid al Barid’i, Tamim bin Khalifa al Buraiki (Al Suwaiq), Anas bin Mahfouz al Sabqi (Dima W'attayeen), Basil bin Faisal al Mubarak (Fanja), Ali bin Rabee al Alawi, Sulaiman bin Dawood al Kharousi (Al Seeb), Abdulaziz bin Hafidh al Manouri (Al Musannah), Saeed bin Salim al Amri (Salalah) and Firas bin Salem Awlad Thani (Bausher).


This camp is expected to be a key stage in the team’s preparation journey, as Omani fans look forward to seeing a new generation capable of continuing the country’s youth football achievements and strengthening its presence in upcoming regional and continental tournaments.
