Swiss food giant Nestlé said on Thursday it will cut about 16,000 jobs globally over the next two years as part of a cost-savings drive.
The reductions will include roughly 12,000 white-collar positions across all functions and geographies, and another 4,000 roles through productivity initiatives in manufacturing and supply chains.
Chief Executive Philipp Navratil said Nestlé must "change faster" to adapt to shifting global conditions.
As part of the plan, Nestlé raised its cost savings target to 3billion Swiss francs ($3.7 billion) by the end of 2027, up from a previous goal of 2.5 billion francs.
The reduction in headcount was announced as the world's biggest food company reported a slight decline in sales for the first nine months of 2025.
Total reported sales in the period fell 1.9% from a year earlier to65.9 billion francs. Organic sales rose 3.3%, with coffee and confectionery the largest contributors.
Nestlé, maker of Nescafé, Kit Kat chocolate bars and pet food, said it expects organic sales growth to improve in 2025 compared with2024.
