Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will travel to Egypt's Sharm el-Sheikh on Monday for the Gaza peace summit, multiple Israeli media outlets reported.

US President Donald Trump will also travel to Egypt after addressing Israeli lawmakers in the Knesset in Jerusalem and meeting the families of hostages.

Trump and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sissi are set to co-chair the summit in Egypt's Red Sea resort town, which will bring together nearly 20 world leaders to discuss the Gaza peace process.

It had initially been expected that neither Israel nor Hamas would be represented at the talks.

Trump's 20-point peace plan, unveiled on September 29 alongside Netanyahu at the White House, included a ceasefire that took effect Friday and an exchange of all hostages held by Hamas - both living and deceased - for Palestinian prisoners in Israeli jails.

The plan also calls for the phased withdrawal of Israeli forces from Gaza.

It envisions Gaza being administered by a transitional technocratic committee of Palestinians and international experts, overseen by a"Board of Peace" led by Trump.

The 20 remaining living hostages held by Hamas in Gaza Strip returned to Israel earlier on Monday. In exchange, some 1,900 Palestinians imprisoned in Israel are due to be released.
