

MUSCAT: Dr Hilal bin Ali al Sabti, Minister of Health, received Dr Mustafa al Ferjani, Minister of Health of the Republic of Tunisia, in his office on Sunday.
During the meeting, the two ministers discussed matters of mutual interest and reviewed the features of the healthcare journeys in both countries, highlighting key achievements in this field and exploring avenues to broaden the scope of partnership and cooperation between them.
The two sides held an official session of talks, exploring ways to develop health sector cooperation between the two countries and activate prospects for this cooperation to serve the joint interests.
The session addressed means of improving the efficiency of healthcare services, facilitating the seamless and secure exchange of data, enhancing the capabilities of human resources, keeping pace with global medical advancements, achieving drug security, and strengthening the capacity to combat pandemics and cross-border diseases.
As part of the visit, the Tunisian minister was briefed on topics including the 'One Health' approach, primary healthcare and the experience of using artificial intelligence for retinal eye screenings.
During his visit to the Emergency Management Centre at the Ministry of Health, the guest learned about the centre's operational mechanisms and Oman's experience in managing health crises and disasters.
He also visited the National Heart Centre at the Royal Hospital, during which he toured its various departments and clinics, and received an explanation of its specialisations and the therapeutic services it provides.
