MUSCAT: Nama Water Services Company is implementing sewage infrastructure projects worth RO 64.9 million in the Wilayat of Al Seeb to improve efficiency, protect the environment and support urban expansion.


Eng Moaz bin Jumaa al Ghailani, Director of Projects at Nama Water Services, said the projects include over 400 km of main and secondary networks, house connections and treatment facilities.


Key projects include: North Maabela / Sur Al Hadid (RO 10.2m): 47.5 km of networks, 30 km of house connections for 3,500 homes; completion in Q1 2028.


•North Al Hail / North Al Mawaleh (RO 8m): 63.5 km of networks; 17% completed, Al Maabela 7 & 4 (RO 14.4m): 37.5 km of networks and 106 km of house connections; completion in 2029, Al Khoudh (RO 12.6m): 66 km of networks, 750 inspection chambers; completion in 2028, Al Manuma/Al Sharadi (RO 5.6m): Progress at 8.5 per cent and Sultan Haitham City Link (RO 7.7m): 7 km sewage line; due in 2026.


Additionally, a 20,000 m³/day treatment plant worth RO 7m is being developed for Sultan Haitham City. Plans also include new sewage networks for coastal areas with 340 inspection pits.


Additionally, a new sewage treatment plant with a capacity of 20,000 cubic metres per day is being developed at a cost of RO 7 million. The project includes design, supply, installation, and operation phases, and will serve Sultan Haitham City. Work is also underway on coastal network designs in Al Seeb, covering internal sewage systems ranging from 200 mm to 600 mm in diameter, with house connections between 100 mm and 185 mm and 340 inspection pits.
