MUSCAT: The Digital Content Conference with AI concluded on Tuesday at the Civil Aviation Authority Hall, featuring a massive list of experts and a wide audience of technology and AI enthusiasts. The conference will be followed by a special two-day workshop at the Oman Across Ages Museum, offering students, designers and AI enthusiasts the opportunity to explore creative content production with artificial intelligence.
The event included panel discussions, workshops and knowledge-sharing sessions aimed at keeping pace with global technological transformations. On its second day, the conference announced the winners of two competitions launched on the opening day: the AI Content Creation Competition and the Best Arab Influencers in AI Content Creation Award. The programme featured specialised sessions, including a talk on AI-generated sound design and audio effects by Dr Taha Hussein, a session on AI in marketing by Fadia Nagah, a lecture on visual effects with AI by Mohammed Mamdouh, and a discussion on the ethics of AI-driven digital content creation presented by Mohammed el Daly.
At its core, the conference focused on empowering creators with AI tools for video editing, image generation, character design, visual effects and automated scriptwriting, helping to accelerate creative production and to reduce time and effort in editing and design. Attendees were also introduced to new horizons in innovation, enhanced audiovisual experiences through improved image and sound quality, and real-time translation. The conference further highlighted opportunities for entrepreneurship through digital production projects and AI-driven creative agencies, while dedicating space to discuss ethical and legal dimensions, particularly intellectual property rights in the use of AI technologies.
Speaking to the Observer, Qasim al Ghafri, an undergraduate student studying robotic engineering, stated that the conference provided invaluable insights into the use of artificial intelligence in digital content creation.
Ibtisam al Rawahi, a computer engineering graduate, noted that the conference provided a great wealth of practical knowledge in artificial intelligence which contributes largely to enable job-seekers and better their chances at landing jobs. She also added that AI has significantly simplified content creation, making it possible for anyone to master skills like filmmaking, graphic design, and even marketing — achieving substantial results that might not have been conceivable without this advanced technology.
Similarly, Mohammed el Daly, director of advertisements and motion graphic designer, explained that the integration of artificial intelligence has become an essential requirement for all demographics, especially the youth who are tasked with the responsibility of keeping up with the latest technological trends. He also highlighted that the conference was all the more imperative in that it targeted young individuals and was met by an impressive number of younger generation audience.
