MUSCAT: The Cultural Library, under the Ministry of Information, now has a new website and mobile application offering services to the public for research and studies, according to the head of the library.
The library is open to both citizens and expatriates for research purposes. However, membership is limited to Ministry of Information staff only.
"We are pleased to announce that the Cultural Library is now accessible through its website and app. People can quickly search for information about the books and other materials available in the library," said Wardah al Lawati, the chief librarian.
The library houses over 14,000 multilingual books categorised into history, periodicals, children's literature, classics, research guides, and more. It offers free resources, news, announcements about new releases and workshops, and all other information in English and Arabic on mobile phones.
Through the app and website, users can not only access information about books online, but also reserve books and reading corners for their convenience. The library provides computers with Internet access and interactive screens for readers.
The library, which provides a seamless mobile experience, is open five days a week from 10 am to 5 pm.
Established by the Ministry of Information, the Cultural Library aims to serve all community members across different educational, cultural and age levels, encouraging reading and research.
With the latest books and essential resources in various fields of knowledge, the library offers a conducive environment for reading, research and exploration.
A dedicated team of librarians is available to assist library visitors and those seeking services, both from within and outside the Ministry of Information. By collaborating with various official entities in the Sultanate of Oman, the Cultural Library provides a seamless experience for visitors.
