MUSCAT: Al Seeb Club secured a thrilling 2–1 victory over visiting Sohar in the closing match of Round 3 of the Jindal Football League, held at Al Seeb Sports Stadium.

The hosts started strongly, surging toward goalkeeper Majid Al Ajmi’s net from the opening minutes, relying on the midfield duo Arshad al Alawi and Abdullah Fawaz to supply precise passes to the forwards. Despite their pressure, Al Seeb struggled to break through Sohar’s solid defence and the brilliant goalkeeping of Al Ajmi.

In the 20th minute, Al Seeb was awarded a penalty after Nasser al Rawahi was brought down by Moaid al Abdulsalam. Abdulaziz al Muqbali converted confidently to put his side ahead. The goal raised the tempo, prompting Sohar to push forward in search of an equaliser, but the first half ended with Al Seeb leading 1–0.

Sohar’s Spanish coach, Gonzalez Lopez, introduced Khalid al Mujaini at the start of the second half to boost attacking play. The changes paid off as the team created several chances through Limory Keita and Abdullah al Balushi, before professional player Dorin netted the equaliser in the 61st minute.

With the game wide open, both teams pressed for a winner amid loud cheers from the stands. Al Seeb focused on quick counterattacks, while Sohar intensified pressure through the middle and flanks, but neither side could find the finishing touch.

Just as the match seemed destined for a draw, Nasser al Rawahi stole the spotlight in the 91st minute with a powerful strike from the edge of the box, sealing a dramatic victory for Al Seeb. The stadium erupted in celebration as the hosts clinched all three points.

With this result, Al Seeb climbed to third place with 7 points, while Sohar slipped to fifth with 6 points.
