

SALALAH: The deliberations of the first Governmental Rehabilitation Centers Forum for Persons with Disabilities, organised by the Ministry of Social Development in Dhofar Governorate, were inaugurated on Sunday.
The forum, held under the auspices of Dr Laila bint Ahmed al Najjar, Minister of Social Development, aims to enhance the quality of services and rehabilitation programmes across various government centres in Oman.
It also seeks to strengthen the role of persons with disabilities, empower them to achieve comprehensive inclusion, and open new pathways for rehabilitation, training and employment.
Additionally, the two-day forum aims to familiarise institutions with the latest developments in this sector and facilitate the exchange of expertise.
The opening ceremony programme included a visual presentation titled 'My Right is Guaranteed'. Moreover, a set of working papers was presented, addressing recent developments in the field of disability and rehabilitation, alongside an accompanying exhibition showcasing products made by persons with disabilities. — ONA
