

NEW YORK: Sayyid Badr bin Hamad al Busaidy, Foreign Minister, met separately with Bakhtiyor Saidov, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan; Ahmed Aboul Gheit, Secretary-General of the League of Arab States; Annalena Baerbock, President of the United Nations General Assembly’s 80th session; Ma. Theresa P Lazaro, Secretary of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of the Philippines and Olivier Nduhungirehe, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation of the Republic of Rwanda.
The meetings discussed ways to enhance bilateral cooperation in various fields and emphasised the strong fraternal and friendly relations between the Sultanate of Oman and these countries and organisations.
They also discussed areas of economic, investment and scientific cooperation, reviewed regional and international developments and humanitarian issues emphasising the importance of dialogue, joint coordination to enhance security, stability and sustainable development in a manner that serves the common interests of friendly and sisterly peoples and countries.
The foreign minister also met with Shaikh Sabah Khaled Al Hamad Al Mubarak al Sabah, Crown Prince of the State of Kuwait, at the headquarters of the Permanent Mission of Kuwait to the United Nations in New York.
Sayyid Badr conveyed the greetings of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik to his brother Shaikh Meshaal Al Ahmad Al Jaber al Sabah, Emir of the State of Kuwait, and to the Crown Prince, alongside His Majesty’s best wishes for continued growth and prosperity for the brotherly Kuwaiti people, and for further progress and prosperity for relations between the two countries.
The Crown Prince asked the foreign minister to convey the greetings of the Emir of the State of Kuwait to His Majesty the Sultan, and his best wishes for His Majesty and the brotherly Omani people for further progress and prosperity, emphasising the deep-rooted relations between the two brotherly countries. The meeting underscored the strong fraternal relations between the Sultanate of Oman and the State of Kuwait, and the mutual commitment to developing and strengthening them to serve the interests of the two brotherly countries and the Gulf Cooperation Council.
