KHASAB: The Governorate of Musandam concluded its first strategic forum aimed at framing projects for the Eleventh Five-Year Plan (2026–2030), with wide community participation and input from public and private stakeholders.
The three-day forum reviewed 119 proposed projects across five main axes: spatial economy and investment, environmental sustainability, infrastructure and well-being, development of national competencies, and quality of services with community participation.
At the closing ceremony, sponsored by Sayyid Ibrahim bin Said al Busaidy, Governor of Musandam, officials highlighted the importance of aligning the governorate’s projects with the priorities of Oman Vision 2040.
The forum produced agreements on 57 projects worth more than RO 50 million, distributed across the wilayats. Among the key initiatives is the National Competency Development Programme, launched in partnership with OQ Group, which will prepare Musandam for a new phase of growth by investing in people, supporting SMEs, fostering innovation and capitalising on opportunities linked to strategic projects.
Recommendations included continuing community engagement, holding the forum annually as a platform for assessment and planning, empowering SMEs, adopting innovative solutions in urban development, and strengthening Musandam’s role as a strategic hub in Oman’s development map. — ONA
