MUSCAT, SEPT 24

The third round of the Elite Football League 2025–2026 will kick off on Thursday, featuring competitive encounters between teams, given the close levels and the clubs’ pursuit of strengthening their positions in the standings.

Sur Club will open their third round campaign against Samayil Club at Sur Sports Complex at 17:15, with both teams eager to recover from their previous results and secure their first three points.

At nearly the same time, League leaders Bahla with six points will face Al Rustaq at Al Rustaq Sports Complex at 17:20. Bahla hope to continue their strong start and cement the lead on top, while Al Rustaq searches for their first points in the league.

The day concludes with a fiery clash between Al Nahda (4 points) and Saham, who have one point. Saham will aim to improve their performance, while Al Nahda seek to capitalise on their technical stability and solid defence to challenge for the top spots. This match could shape the early competition for the summit.

FRIDAY MATCHES

The round continues on Friday, September 26, with a match between Al Shabab and Oman Club at 17:15 at Seeb Stadium. Al Shabab enter the game with confidence, having collected six points while conceding only one goal so far. On the other hand, Oman (3 points) is keen to regain balance after inconsistent results, as another loss could push them down the standings early.

Later, at 19:45 at Salalah’s Al Saada Sports Complex, Al Nasr (third with 6 points) will meet Dhofar. The 'Royals' will be looking to bounce back from their previous round defeat and reenter the competition, as they remain without any points.

SATURDAY MATCHES

The round concludes on Saturday, September 27, with two matches. The first at 17:25 will see Khabourah face Ibri at Buraimi Sports Complex. Both teams sit with one point each from two games, separated by goal difference. This match will be crucial for both sides to escape the lower ranks and secure mid table stability.

The last match takes place at Seeb Stadium at 19:45, where Seeb (sixth with 4 points) face second-placed Sohar. It promises to be a highly competitive encounter between two of this season’s strongest contenders.

Bahla enter the third round at the top of the table on goal difference, tied on points (6) with Sohar, Al Nasr, and Al Shabab. Seeb and Al Nahda (4 points each) are also close behind, pressing for the lead. Meanwhile, clubs without any points yet, such as Al Rustaq and Sur, face a tough challenge to recover from their shaky starts.

The third round will serve as a crucial checkpoint in shaping the early race for the Elite League title, as Omani football fans anticipate thrilling matches that will influence the course of the competition.
