The Urdu Wing of the Indian Social Club (ISC), Oman, hosted a memorable International Mushaira 2025 in Muscat, bringing together a distinguished lineup of poets from India and abroad along with a large, appreciative audience.

The event was graced by the presence of Ambassador G V Srinivas, who praised the cultural significance of the gathering. "Events like these highlight the cultural depth of our community and the timeless appeal of Urdu poetry," he said, expressing his delight at the enthusiastic participation in Muscat.

Aftab Patel (Safeer-e-Urdu), a long-time supporter of the Mushaira, reiterated his commitment to literary endeavours. "Since the inception of this Mushaira, I have had the privilege to support it. My joy lies in witnessing Urdu flourish and poets finding a platform to engage with the community," he remarked.

In his opening remarks, Tufail Ahmad, Convener of the ISC Urdu Wing, emphasised the importance of poetry in preserving the language. "Poetry and Mushaira are not just performances, but a lifeline for the growth and preservation of the Urdu language," he stated.
