Daylight robbery at jewellery shop in Muscat, 4 arrested

Muscat: A daring daylight robbery of a gold shop in Muscat Governorate by four Asian nationals resulted in a loss of around RO150,000.

According to the Royal Oman Police (ROP), the police commands of Muscat and North Al Batinah governorates, in cooperation with the General Directorate of Criminal Investigation, arrested four Asian nationals on charges of robbery after they stormed a gold shop in the Wilayat of Seeb, threatened and assaulted the employees, and stole gold jewelry valued at RO150,000, as well as cash.

After committing the crime, the perpetrators left the scene in an attempt to escape, but they didn't realize that every trace they left was evidence against them.

The relevant authorities immediately launched an investigation and began gathering evidence.

A crime scene investigation team, supported by a forensic evidence team, went to the scene to collect evidence and fingerprints. The security camera footage revealed the suspects, who were traveling in a vehicle with a stolen license plate.

The forensic team continued its efforts, coordinating closely with the crime scene investigation team.

 They immediately collected fingerprint evidence through direct photography and transmitted the images to the operations center, where specialists began their technical analysis.

The results led to the identification of one of the suspects and intensified efforts led to the the perpetrators, and all stolen property was recovered.
