MUSCAT, SEPT 21

Al Shabab Club managed to secure a valuable 2–0 victory over its guest Al Khabourah in the match held at the Seeb Sports Stadium. The game was a postponed fixture from the first round, within the second group of the Jetour Cup competition.

The first half was technically solid, with Al Shabab starting with early attacking pressure. However, the resilience of Al Khabourah’s defense and the brilliance of goalkeeper Rabee al Qutaiti prevented the ball from finding the net.

In the 32nd minute, Al Khabourah almost snatched the lead through Nawaf al Hosni, who went one-on-one with the goalkeeper, but his shot went just wide of the right post. Al Shabab responded quickly in the 35th minute with a header from Geoulson Limado that struck the right post. Four minutes later, in the 39th minute, Mohammed al Ghafri finally put Al Shabab ahead with a precise header, ending the first half 1–0.

At the start of the second half, both coaches made several substitutions to give opportunities to fresh players. Al Shabab benefited from the energy of their substitutes, as striker Badr al Alawi doubled the lead in the 82nd minute after receiving a perfect pass that exploited a defensive lapse by Al Khabourah.

In the closing minutes, Al Khabourah pushed forward in search of a comeback, applying offensive pressure on goalkeeper Islam al Hinai, but the solid defensive line of Al Shabab stood firm. The referee’s final whistle confirmed Al Shabab’s 2–0 victory and their first three points of the tournament.

With this result, Al Shabab climbed to third place in the group with three points, while Al Khabourah dropped to second-to-last place with one point from a draw.

Ibri Club achieved an exciting 3–2 win over Al Rustaq in their clash at the Buraimi Sports Complex, also within the second group of the Jetour Cup.

Ibri started strong, opening the scoring in the 6th minute through defender Ayman al Musallami, who rose high and converted a corner kick from Mutasim al Shalbi with a brilliant header.

Al Rustaq tried to get back into the game, creating several dangerous chances but without success, until the 41st minute when they equalised. A cross from Ayman al Buraiki deflected off defender Ayman al Musallami into his own net, registering an own goal for Al Rustaq.

But Ibri responded quickly, as player Bisan scored their second goal in the first minute of stoppage time (45+1), finishing off a clever assist from Abdulrahman al Yaqoubi, sending his team into halftime with a 2–1 lead.

In the second half, Al Rustaq pushed forward aggressively seeking an equaliser, while Ibri retreated to defend. Al Rustaq’s task grew harder when their player Hatim al Hamhami was sent off in the 46th minute. Ibri capitalised on the advantage and extended their lead in the 63rd minute, when Ali al Balushi netted the third goal after a fine individual effort and a decisive pass from substitute Mohammed al Alawi.

Near the end of the match, another defensive mistake by Ibri gifted Al Rustaq a second own goal, reducing the deficit, but the final whistle sealed a 3–2 win for Ibri, securing three vital points in their group campaign. With this victory, Ibri moved up to fifth place with three points, while Al Rustaq dropped to the bottom of the table with no points.
