AL SUWAIQ: The development of Al Yasmeen Park, a modern recreational project in Al Suwaiq, is nearing completion with landscaping and installation works currently underway.

Spanning 19,000 square metres, the park is designed to provide residents with a safe, family-friendly space for sports, relaxation and social interaction, while also promoting healthier lifestyles and enhancing the area’s urban landscape.

Implemented in three phases, the project has already completed its first stage, which included the installation of irrigation systems with a 30,000-gallon underground tank, electrical works, lighting poles and paved walkways with interlock tiles and gravel.

The ongoing second phase focuses on tree planting and drilling a well to secure water resources, with work expected to continue until the end of 2025. The third and final phase will introduce recreational facilities such as children’s play areas, outdoor fitness stations, rubber flooring and waste bins, also slated for completion by late 2025.

Eng Waleed al Nabhani, Director of Projects at Al Batinah North Municipality, said: “Al Yasmeen Park reflects our commitment to creating modern public spaces that improve the quality of life for residents. It will provide families with a safe and vibrant place to gather while promoting healthier lifestyles and enhancing the urban landscape of Al Suwaiq.”

With a total investment exceeding RO 285,000, the park is expected to become one of the wilayat’s key recreational landmarks. Residents have welcomed the project, describing it as a much-needed addition to meet the growing community’s leisure needs.

Local resident Ali al Jahwari said: “With the growing population in the wilayat, families need more public spaces where they can enjoy leisure and spend quality time together. Al Yasmeen Park will be an important addition, offering a real breathing space for the community.”

Once complete, Al Yasmeen Park will stand as a prominent recreational hub, supporting Oman’s broader vision of developing sustainable, attractive and people-centred urban environments.
