IBRI: Ibri Reference Hospital has emerged as a model for specialised healthcare and institutional development in Al Dhahirah Governorate, recording a series of achievements in the first half of 2025.
Dr Dalal al Ghafri, Hospital Director, said key advancements included the introduction of an electronic radiology archiving system, expansion of day clinics and enhanced gastrointestinal endoscopy services.
These measures reduced patient waiting times, cut costs and minimised the need for external referrals.
The hospital also boosted rehabilitation services with new electrical stimulation devices and expanded cardiology facilities with additional Holter monitors, improving early diagnosis and treatment outcomes. Surgeries were conducted during weekends to shorten waiting lists, while new pain management procedures, such as PRP injections, were introduced.
Assistant Director Dr Rashid bin Sultan al Muqbali highlighted ongoing expansion projects, including a private sector partnership to enhance the emergency medicine unit, and medical simulation programmes to train staff for critical cases.
Beyond healthcare delivery, the hospital actively engages the community through awareness campaigns and volunteer programmes. As the only referral hospital in Al Dhahirah, it serves three wilayats - Ibri, Yanqul and Dhank - providing specialised services across a wide spectrum of medical fields. - ONA
