MUSCAT: Oman’s natural gas production — covering both domestic output and imports — recorded a slight increase of 0.7%, reaching 32.8795 billion cubic metres (bcm) by the end of July 2025, compared to 32.6432 bcm during the same period in 2024. Data from the National Centre for Statistics and Information indicated that associated gas production rose by 10.8% by the end of July 2025, reaching 7.3086 bcm compared to 6.5944 bcm during the same period in 2024. In contrast, non-associated gas production (including imports) decreased by 1.8%, totalling 25.5709 bcm by the end of July 2025, compared to 26.0489 bcm last year. On the consumption side, natural gas usage in industrial projects declined by 3.9%, amounting to 16.3732 bcm by the end of July 2025, compared to 17.0463 bcm last year. Gas consumption by the power generation sector saw a slight increase of 0.5%, reaching 8.8048 bcm, down from 8.7575 bcm last year. Data also showed that gas consumption in oil fields, including industrial zones and the companies, Oman Mining Company and Oman Cement Company, grew by 12.7% to reach 7.54 bcm by the end of July 2025, compared to 6.6931 bcm in the same period of 2024. Finally, gas usage in industrial areas increased by 10.3%, reaching 161.4 million m3, compared to 146.3 million m3 during the same period in 2024. — ONA
