MUSCAT: In a major step towards strengthening Oman’s position as a regional logistics hub, the Oman Logistics Academy (OLA) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with WingsWay Training Institute, a leading Dubai-based provider of logistics and supply chain related training services.
The agreement was signed by Dr Mansoor bin Mahfoodh al Qasimi, CEO of Oman Logistics Academy, with Naveen Kumar Jakkapalli, Co-founder and CEO of WingsWay Training Institute. The collaboration is set to deliver a portfolio of internationally accredited certification programmes in logistics, supply chain management, procurement and contract management. These programmes are aligned with Oman Vision 2040, supporting the Sultanate of Oman’s goal of becoming a world-class logistics hub and diversifying its economy through knowledge and skills development.
Dr Al Qasimi described the agreement as a milestone in Oman’s human capital development: “This MoU represents a transformative step in Oman’s logistics education journey. By partnering with WingsWay, we are equipping young Omanis with the skills, knowledge and global exposure needed to compete and excel in this vital sector”.
For WingsWay, the partnership reflects its commitment to supporting regional talent. Naveen Kumar Jakkapalli said: “We are honoured to collaborate with Oman Logistics Academy. Our expertise across the GCC and beyond, combined with the Academy’s strong knowledge about industry’s specific requirements for the corporate, government organisations and individual learners, will ensure that Oman produces future-ready logistics professionals with globally benchmarked capabilities”.
The agreement also includes a training-for-employment model, aimed at bridging the gap between education and real job opportunities. This model will prepare job seekers with both technical qualifications and career pathways in Oman’s expanding logistics industry. Courses will be delivered in Arabic and English, making them accessible to a wide audience of professionals and students.
Beyond logistics and supply chain disciplines, the collaboration will extend to training in aviation, IT, project management, finance, human resources, leadership and soft skills. Participants will also have the chance to earn certifications from globally respected institutions such as CILT (UK), CIPS (UK), IFPSM (Finland), CPD (UK), CompTIA (US), IATA (Canada) and APS (US).
