SUHAR, SEPT 13
Al Batinah North Governorate is making significant strides in digital transformation with the launch of a suite of innovative platforms designed to enhance public services, streamline operations, and improve daily life for citizens. These initiatives align with the national vision for a smarter, more connected Oman.
At the forefront is the Electronic Document and Records Management System, officially inaugurated by Mohammed bin Sulaiman al Kindi, Governor of Al Batinah North.
The system moves administrative processes into a fully digital environment, reducing reliance on paper documentation and ensuring greater efficiency and transparency.
Complementing this are platforms tailored to various societal and institutional needs. The Summer Centers Platform streamlines management of youth programmes and activities, enhancing planning and participation.
The Athar Platform introduces a structured approach to employee recognition and performance, allowing institutions to nominate, evaluate, and reward staff, thereby encouraging excellence.
The Marriage Fund Platform simplifies access to marriage support services, enabling beneficiaries to complete requests more quickly and transparently, reducing bureaucratic hurdles for families.
Developed by the Governorate’s team in Al Batinah North, these platforms form an integrated digital ecosystem. Eng Salim al Kindi, Head of the Governorate’s Digital Transformation Taskforce, said they “enhance government efficiency while directly improving citizens’ quality of life.”
Also launched is Tajawub, a centralised nationwide platform that allows citizens to submit proposals, inquiries, complaints, and service reports, strengthening communication between government entities and the public.
These platforms were recently showcased at the Comex Global Technology Exhibition 2025, highlighting their role in Oman’s broader digital journey. Beyond exhibitions, they serve as practical tools that bring services closer to the community, reduce administrative burdens, and support Oman Vision 2040’s sustainable development goals.
Through these forward-looking initiatives, Al Batinah North Governorate is paving the way for public services that are efficient, transparent and responsive to the evolving needs of society.
