KAZAN: The Oman Film Society has signed a cooperation agreement with the Kazan International Film Festival during its twenty-first edition, hosted in Kazan, the Russian Republic of Tatarstan. The agreement was signed by its KIFF Executive Director, Milyausha Aituganova, and OFS chairman, Mohammed bin Abdullah al Ajmi.

The agreement includes a number of provisions, most notably the exchange of film screenings between the two parties, the organisation of training workshops and the exchange of expertise in cinematic fields, in addition to opening avenues for future joint film production.

Fahd bin Ramadan al Maimani, Director of Local and International Relations at the Society, emphasised that this agreement represents a qualitative leap for Omani cinema, as it opens the door for joint projects and cultural and artistic exchange with Russia. He indicated that through this agreement, the association seeks to enhance the presence of Omani cinema in international forums, develop the capabilities of national cadres, and build long-term strategic partnerships. — ONA
