Oman marks Prophet’s Birthday

IBRI: The Sultanate of Oman, represented by the Ministry of Awqaf and Religious Affairs, observed the Prophet’s (PBUH) Birthday, for the year 1447 AH, in the Wilayat of Ibri, Al Dhahirah Governorate, on Monday.

The ceremony was held in the Al Muhallab Ibin Abi Sufra Hall in the Wilayat of Ibri under the auspices of Najib bin Ali al Rawas, Governor of Dhahirah, Governor of Al Dhahirah, in presence of Ahmed bin Saleh al Rashidi, Under-secretary of the Ministry of Awqaf and Religious Affairs and Shaikh Dr Said bin Humaid al Harthi, Wali of Ibri.

The event highlighted the life, morals and teachings of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). It began with a recitation from the Holy Quran by reciter Saif bin Ali al Muqbali, followed by a visual display about the Prophet’s morals. This was followed by another visual display titled “The Birth of the Beloved” with a group of children performing chants featuring some of the Prophet’s characteristics and qualities.

The ceremony also included a poem by Ahmed bin Salem al Kalbani and an Islamic chant performed by Adnan bin Mohammed al Mabsali. The ceremony concluded with a video clip by the Wasil band, which showcased the noble morals of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), his compassion and mercy for his nation, and his care for them.

This event was part of the activities organized by the Ministry of Awqaf and Religious Affairs to commemorate the life of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and promote the values of love and brotherhood among Muslims through cultural and religious programmes aimed at instilling Prophet Muhammad’s morals and merits.
