Muscat: The Ministry of Education (MoE) announced the opening of registration for the Literacy and Adult Education programmes for the academic year 2025/2026.
According to the ministry, registration for the literacy programme will take place from September 1 to September 25, while registration for the adult education programme will run from September 1 to October 16.
Applications must be submitted electronically through the ministry’s education portal (https://eportal.moe.gov.om.
The ministry confirmed that registration is only valid during the specified periods, with no late applications to be accepted.
Applicants may register in their governorate of residence, a governorate where they had previously studied, or the governorate of their workplace, provided that they should submit supporting documentation from their employer.
The registration process requires filling in accurate personal details and attaching the necessary documents, including a copy of the civil ID valid for at least six months, a copy of the last school certificate, and — for those employed — a no-objection letter from the workplace. Students from social security and low-income families are exempted from tuition fees upon presenting proof of eligibility.
For continuous education (adult education), the ministry has set registration fees as follows: RO 5 for first-time registration in Grades 7–11 and RO 10 for Grade 12.
Re-registration fees are RO 10 and RO 50 respectively.
The ministry noted that applicants must complete the required forms accurately, as responsibility for errors or missing data rests with the student. Registration is not transferable across governorates unless supported by official documentation.
Further details on registration steps and procedures can be accessed by scanning the QR code provided in the ministry’s circular.
