

SALALAH: The Dhofar Digital Health Transformation Forum, organised by the Ministry of Health, concluded with a comprehensive set of recommendations to accelerate healthcare digitalisation and strengthen cybersecurity, supporting Oman Vision 2040. The forum emphasised the importance of innovation and technology in enhancing healthcare services across Oman.
Titled ‘Digitising Health and Innovation for Advanced Care and Sustainable Health', the two-day forum brought together administrators, medical and nursing staff, military and security personnel, and private sector representatives. Discussions focused on implementing advanced technologies, improving healthcare efficiency and safeguarding sensitive data against cyber threats.
Key recommendations included forming director-general-level digital transformation teams in governorates, attracting specialised national talent, integrating modern medical technologies and conducting awareness campaigns on cyber risks.
Participants emphasised regular field visits by central digital teams to monitor progress, identify challenges and facilitate knowledge exchange between governorates.
The forum also highlighted cross-institutional integration, ensuring that digital transformation initiatives are consistent across all health facilities. Discussions covered best practices from both Oman and international contexts, aiming to create a robust, sustainable and integrated digital healthcare system. - ONA
