SALALAH: The Authority for Small and Medium Enterprises Development (Riyada) launched the Omani Handicraft House outlet at Al Hafa Beach Market, Salalah, providing a platform for SMEs and local artisans to showcase and sell their products. The initiative supports entrepreneurship and strengthens the visibility of Omani handicrafts in local and international markets.

The launch event was sponsored by Dr Ahmed bin Mohsin al Ghassani, Chairman of Dhofar Municipality, and attended by Halima bint Rashid al Zariyah, Chairperson of Riyada.

The outlet features a wide variety of products, including handicrafts, perfumes, incense, fashion items, accessories, jewellery and cosmetics. An online platform complements the physical outlet, enabling broader consumer reach without registration fees or sales commissions.

Since its initial launch in Muscat in 2022, the Omani Crafts House service has registered 90 merchants offering 907 products, highlighting Riyada’s commitment to digital transformation, SME growth and the promotion of Omani cultural heritage nationally and abroad. — ONA
