Muscat - IHG Hotels and Resorts, one of the world’s leading hotel companies, has announced the appointment of Yousuf al Rahbi as General Manager of Crowne Plaza Duqm.
Al Rahbi becomes the first Omani national to step into a General Manager position role for IHG in the Sultanate, reflecting the Group’s dedication to nurturing local talent and Oman’s growing leadership in the regional hospitality industry.
Al Rahbi’s appointment underscores IHG’s ongoing commitment to cultivating local talent and advancing national leadership within the hospitality sector. Rahbi’s decade-long journey with IHG, marked by progressive leadership roles, culminates in this well-deserved achievement following his successful completion of the “Journey to General Manager” programme— IHG’s leadership development framework designed to prepare high-potential talent for executive roles within the Group.
Al Rahbi’s career with IHG began in 2015 as Director of Human Resources at InterContinental Muscat, where his strategic acumen earned him a promotion to Area Director of Human Resources for Oman, overseeing HR operations across multiple IHG hotels. Driven by a passion for hotel operations and guest experience, he transitioned into an operational leadership role as Hotel Manager at InterContinental Muscat. Earlier this year, Rahbi was seconded to Crowne Plaza Duqm as part of a task force assignment, where he quickly proved his leadership and operational strengths.
Beyond his achievements with IHG, Al Rahbi is also an alumnus of Omran Group’s prestigious “Lift Program”, a national initiative designed to empower Omani professionals in tourism and hospitality. As a member of its inaugural cohort, he continues to inspire emerging professionals across the industry.
