BRUNEI: The Sultanate of Oman is taking part in the Brunei Darussalam Book Fair 2025. Oman’s participation in the event is aimed at consolidating bilateral relations and supporting efforts to boost the country’s cultural presence in the international arena.

The step is in pursuance of the National Cultural Strategy, which aims to highlight the Omani intellectual output, introduce Omani authors and publishers, strengthen the national cultural identity and expand the distribution of Omani publications in educational establishments in East Asian countries.

The book fair was opened by Dato Seri Setia Haji Awang Nazmi bin Haji Awang Mohamad, Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports in Brunei Darussalam.

The minister toured the Sultanate of Oman's pavilion, where he took note of a variety of publications that reflect Oman's interest in literature, thought, history and heritage. At the conclusion of the tour, the minister hailed the level of Oman’s participation in the book fair and the exhibits that its pavilion showcased.

The Sultanate of Oman's pavilion attracted the attention of different segments of visitors. It included a display of recent publications issued by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth, in addition to publications from government departments and civil society organisations.

The exhibits included general information, tourism materials and tableaus that highlighted Oman’s heritage and natural attractions. — ONA
