The Omani-Bahraini Friendship Society, established to strengthen bilateral relations in cultural, social and economic spheres, lauded the Royal visit of King Hamad bin Isa al Khalifa to Oman at the invitation of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik. The visit was described as a continuation of brotherhood, solidarity and historically rooted relations between the two nations.

Speaking to Observer, Radina bint Amer al Hajriyah, Chairwoman of the Society, highlighted that ties between Oman and Bahrain date back to the civilisations of Majan and Dilmun, built on kinship, mutual respect and shared traditions. She emphasised the monarchs’ commitment to maintaining strong relations and expanding cooperation across economic, scientific, cultural and health sectors.

“The bilateral relationship is a model for international relations and demonstrates what enduring cooperation between countries should look like,” she said, noting that the visit continues a legacy of private exchanges and strategic communication between the leaders.

Radina also outlined the Society’s key objectives, including promoting youth engagement, sports, cultural activities, social development and economic cooperation. Initiatives include seminars, art and science exhibitions, exchange visits by researchers and artists, and collaboration between business communities from both countries. Areas such as artificial intelligence, digital transformation, sustainability and entrepreneurship are also being actively explored.

As part of these efforts, the Society recently conducted the fifth Oman-Bahrain Products Exhibition in Dhofar, in cooperation with the Dhofar branch of the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Bahraini Embassy in Oman. The ten-day exhibition, held under the auspices of Faisal bin Abdullah al Rawas, Chairman of OCCI, aimed to promote local products in domestic and Gulf markets, support SMEs, and enhance economic contributions aligned with Oman Vision 2040. It also served as a platform for exchanging knowledge on production techniques and best practices between productive families in both countries.

Dr Juma bin Ahmed al Kaabi, Bahraini Ambassador to Oman, praised the development of Oman-Bahrain relations, noting the ongoing efforts to broaden cooperation in trade, tourism, culture and education.

The Omani-Bahraini Friendship Society stressed that such initiatives not only strengthen bilateral relations but also build bridges between the peoples of the two nations, ensuring continued collaboration and mutual prosperity.
