MUSCAT: The Ministry of Education, in partnership with the Modern College of Business and Science, on Sunday celebrated the graduation of the first batch of students from the Vocational and Technical Education Track in Business Administration and Information Technology for the academic year 2024-2025.
The ceremony was held under the auspices of Dr Madeeha bint Ahmed al Shaibaniyah, Minister of Education.
Dr Abdullah bin Khamis Ambusaidi, Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Education for Education, emphasised the ministry’s commitment to implementing vocational and technical education, which was introduced in the 2023-2024 academic year. He described it as a strategic choice that responds to the requirements of sustainable national development and effectively contributes to building national capabilities by equipping youth with the practical and specialised skills demanded by the contemporary job market.
He explained that this track not only prepares students for the job market but also fosters a culture of work and self-reliance, opening broader horizons for Omani youth to innovate and lead in dynamic productive fields aligned with the goals of Oman Vision 2040.
On his turn, Mousa bin Abdullah al Kindi, Dean of the Modern College of Business and Science, noted that the graduation of 138 highly competent students embodies a comprehensive national strategy and ambitious vision for Oman, which places technical and vocational education at the forefront of its priorities and invests in building the capacities of youth as a cornerstone for shaping the nation’s future.
