Social Innovation Conference held in Salalah

SALALAH: A major social innovation conference was held in Salalah, organised in collaboration with the Regional Network for Social Responsibility. The opening ceremony took place under the auspices of HH Sayyid Marwan Turki Al Said, Governor of Dhofar. Hatim Hamad Al Taie, Editor-in-Chief of Al Roya, highlighted the ethical responsibilities associated with artificial intelligence (AI), emphasising the need to balance innovation with privacy, ensure fair use of data, and uphold transparency. He urged companies to integrate responsible AI practices into their social responsibility strategies.

The conference statement was delivered by Dr Youssef Abdel Ghaffar, Chairman of the Regional Network for Social Responsibility. Dr Youssef stressed the importance of national policies supporting social innovation, private sector–youth partnerships, and digital platforms for showcasing emerging social solutions. Mohammed Bakhit Al Shahri, Dhofar representative of the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry, highlighted Oman Vision 2040, emphasizing innovation as a pillar of a sustainable knowledge economy. - ONA
