<b>21 General Diploma toppers honoured in Muscat</b>

Muscat Governorate, in cooperation with its Directorate-General of Education, recently held a ceremony to honour the top-performing General Education Diploma students of the 2023-2024 academic year.The 21 male and female students achieved exceptional results, scoring over 99 per cent in their exams.

The event underscores the governorate’s commitment to nurturing outstanding students and supporting young talent.The ceremony, attended by parents and representatives from public and private schools as well as Islamic institutes, took place at the Dohat Al Adab Theatre under the auspices of Ahmed bin Mohammed al Humaidi, Chairman of Muscat Municipality.In his speech, he praised the students’ dedication and reiterated the governorate’s commitment to providing institutional support throughout their academic journeys. He also commended the efforts of teachers, parents and the Ministry of Education for their role in guiding the students towards success.Representing his peers, Mohammed al Mandhari from Jaber Bin Zaid Basic Education School expressed gratitude for the recognition, emphasising that perseverance, diligence and patience are the keys to success.Al Ghalya bint Abdullah al Ismailiyah highlighted the importance of focus, positivity and time management.Parents also shared their joy and underlined the crucial role of providing a supportive environment, balancing study, rest and healthy nutrition.Meanwhile, Hamid bin Issam al Tobi, who has secured a seat at Sultan Qaboos University’s College of Science in cybersecurity, spoke of his pride in achieving his academic goals, with his father emphasising guidance and encouragement as essential to student success.The event featured a visual presentation, 'Journey of Glory', showcasing the students’ achievements, complemented by musical performances that added a celebratory atmosphere. The ceremony reflected an exemplary collaboration between community institutions, the Directorate-General of Education and families in promoting academic excellence in Muscat.
