Muscat: The Oman Journalists Association (OJA) has strongly condemned what it described as the heinous crime committed by Israeli occupation forces in the Gaza Strip, resulting in the killing of five Palestinian journalists and photographers.

The association said the latest attack raises the number of journalists killed since the start of the aggression to 242, describing it as a deliberate escalation aimed at silencing the truth and concealing the crimes of the occupation.

OJA stressed that targeting journalists constitutes a blatant violation of international laws and conventions.
It called on the international community, media organisations and rights bodies to act swiftly to halt such crimes and ensure full protection for journalists in conflict zones.

The association affirmed that the blood of journalists will not be in vain, and that attempts by the occupation to erase the truth will fail in the face of the steadfastness of Palestinian journalists and their commitment to their professional and humanitarian duty.

Extending its condolences to the families of the victims and the Palestinian Journalists Syndicate, OJA prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured and reiterated its solidarity with Palestinian media professionals in their mission to defend the truth alongside their peers across the world.
