

Muscat: Oman Airports has urged passengers with disabilities to notify the airline in advance or during booking about the need for wheelchairs to ensure the availability of service for all travelers.
It added that designated parking spaces are provided for vehicles, along with full support for wheelchair users.
"Ground service staff will accompany travellers from the moment of check-in until boarding the aircraft, with a dedicated lane and a designated passport desk to expedite procedures. At Muscat International Airport, a fully equipped lounge is provided for passengers with disabilities, offering them comfort and privacy in a calm and safe environment. Appropriately equipped restrooms are also available nearby for easy access," it added.
To benefit from the service, travellers can proceed to the "Passengers with Special Needs" desk located in the front lobby of the departures hall.
Earlier, the Civil Aviation Authority notified that passengers must inform the air carrier of their condition and the required equipment/devices when making a confirmed reservation.
The passenger is not obligated to sign any waiver of their rights or be entitled to services under the provisions of the concerned regulations.
The air carrier must ensure that the passenger with disabilities or special requirements receives their mobility aids and equipment. In case of damage or loss, compensation must be provided for their value.
If the air carrier fails to provide an alternative flight or the required services, the passenger shall be compensated with 200% of the total ticket value for the confirmed reservation
