ADDIS ABABA: The Sultanate of Oman is taking part in the second United Nations Food Systems Summit (UNFSS+4) being held in the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia. The summit, which concludes on Tuesday, July 29, is jointly organised by the governments of Ethiopia and Italy.


Oman's delegation is led by Dr Saud bin Hamoud al Habsi, Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources.


The summit will review global progress in transforming food systems in a manner that contributes to the realisation of the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).


The summit seeks to enhance joint action, assess national and international efforts and mobilise resources to support the establishment of comprehensive, sustainable and resilient systems that provide food security and nutrition for all.


The summit is being attended by heads of state and governments, ministers, representatives of United Nations agencies and international organisations, representatives of civil society institutions, researchers, youth and agricultural producers from around the world. — ONA
